International Programs Team Resumes the 2025 International Winter Program After 5 Years

△Orientation session of 2025 International Winter School
International Programs Team at Konkuk University hosted the 2025 International Winter School after a five-year break.
Running from February 3 to 19, the program welcomes 63 students from 23 universities across 12 countries. Participating institutions include Aichi University (Japan) and nine other Japanese universities, Shandong University (China) and one additional Chinese institution, University of Malaya (Malaysia), Soochow University (Taiwan), PSB Academy (Singapore), Technical University Berlin (Germany), Laurea University (Finland), University of Chile (Chile), Fachhochschule Technikum Vienna (Austria), SWPS University (Poland), Kadir Has University (Türkiye), and University of the Sunshine Coast (Australia).
The winter school offers credit-bearing courses and field trips as part of its academic curriculum, while also providing additional cultural exchange opportunities through the Buddy Program, which connects international students with local Konkuk University students. In particular, the K-Culture course offerings include popular subjects such as K-Beauty, K-Art & K-Pop, and International Business, as well as separate Korean language intensive courses.
△Welcome Address by Dr. Yeom △Special Performance by K-TIGERS
The program kicked off on February 4 with an orientation session at Law School Building in Konkuk University. The event featured a welcome address by Dr. Jae Ung Yeom, the Vice President for International Affairs. This was followed by an overview of course credits, field learning activities, and the Buddy Program. The opening ceremony also included a special performance by K-Tigers, presenting Korea’s dynamic Taekwondo culture.
The field trips, which focus on "Korean Culture Experience," "Sports Activities," and "Winter Festivals," will allow students to immerse themselves in Korean traditions. Additionally, the field work sessions will offer a combination of theory and practice. K-Beauty students will visit the Amorepacific's headquarters, International Business students will visit the KUNDAL's headquarters, and K-Art students will tour the Gentle Monster and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
△Field Trip: Korean Culture Experience and Sports Activities
The Buddy Program encourage to promote friendships between local students and international participants through engaging activities such as experiencing Gyeongbokgung Palace while wearing hanbok, visiting Lotte World, and going a Seoul Sky tour.
Konkuk University’s International Programs Team is preparing for the 2025 International Summer School, with plans to expand the country pool and increase the participating institutions providing an even broader global learning experience.
